Pros

Free lunch once a week, paid benefits, casual work environment, snack bar.

Cons

Everyone in management are friends and watch each others back. Most of them don’t care about low tier employees and those employees suffer because of that. Livechat/tech support is terribly managed. Lots of key developers have been leaving as well and DreamHost’s answer is to out source development. They try to look like a forward thinking company but really the DreamHost ship is sinking. HR has no clue what they are doing as well as the whole company is a HR nightmare. Drug abuse and sexual harassment is a huge problem.

Live chat drains you mentally

Pros

Cool work environment cool co-workers great benefits

Cons

Terrible pay compared to UB or any other department. Live Chat handles everything from sales, dreampress, wordpress, to dedicated servers and some cloud issues yet the pay is way below average. The abuse you get from customers daily is not worth the benefits dreamhost offers. Management on your back 24/7 for not meeting quota or your goals adds on to the stress of the Job. Just like the previous review management only cares about numbers and wait times. How do you expect to give great support in a short amount of time to meet the BS quota. also, the fact that a lot of older workers are making LESS than the new employees is also BS. This company was great to work for before live chat even came into the picture because not only did management care about their employees the stress of the job did not exist. I feel sorry for anyone joining the live chat team because it is completely mentally draining.
