They very unexpectedly laid off half the engineering department last fall on a day when the company's stock price was up nearly 50% from the beginning of the year. So many good people let go. They're now approaching some of those engineers who were let go to return as contractors. In the mean time, they just did another round of general layoffs, but this time the *only* engineer let go was a single, 6-month pregnant woman who'd been with them since Driveway started.

Terrible benefits compared to other engineering companies. Little PTO. No paternity/maternity leave. No RSUs. All projects have to be approved by upper level management which grinds productivity to a standstill.
