Pros

Co-workers are good people Your assignments will stretch you Eye-opening insight into pharmaceutical sales Not one of those places where lots of people know how to do your job better than you

Cons

Uneven management, if they even know what you do Too many fire drills Can be clique-y No formal performance or salary review processes If you don't have strong boundaries, they will take over your life and still expect more

Biggest scam in Rochester

Pros

Workers in the lowest ranks are good people.

Cons

Management is embarrassing. With a couple of exceptions, the executive team has no experience in customer facing roles and leaves the underlings to take the heat and shoulder the criticism. There is no shortage of blame especially from the project management team to the producers of work under insane circumstances and deadlines. Holidays, 9 - 5 and vacation is nice, if you're allowed to take it. That is reserved for the middle and the top. Nepotism is rampant and appears to be a sign of talent saturation in Rochester. If you're someone's significant other, they'll hire you . Experience not needed. And you'll be protected over others with no blood ties.

Planning to Fail

Pros

Great niche in the market and some incredible people who work hard. There's teamwork in the trenches. Fear and abrasive interactions galvanize employees.

Cons

Frequent, uncontrolled cycles of hiring and then layoffs; full-time employees sent packing without notice due to failure to plan and obsessive sales "practices". Old-school and outdated methods of prospecting and micro-managing include lying to clients and employees with professionally-accepted bullying and over-working. Minimum training for employees, cliques necessary for advancement and blind, Napoleonic leadership.

Thank you for your feedback. There have been many changes since 2015, including in management, business financial conditions, and even corporate structure. Unfortunately, 2015 in particular was an outlier year and we understand that witnessing a round of staffing changes or layoffs can be difficult - it's difficult for all of us to witness or make these types of decisions. Many of the specific items cited in the "cons" section have since been addressed by a change in a few staff members over the past year or two - unfortunately, even just one or two individuals can create and reinforce a negative work environment that affects many. Since that time, we've identified and made the decision to remove - and we have in place a team of trusted, credible leaders across all levels that are excited to work together with all team members and promote a positive work environment.
