EBR Systems - Small Company....Big Family....Positive Culture
Pros
I have had the very good fortune to have worked for several world class organizations during my 30 year career. Most have been medical device companies....15 years with 2 Fortune 500 device companies. I can honestly say that EBR, although being a small organization, has exceeded my expectations on two critically important aspects compared to the big companies. First off, the leadership and company culture facilitates/promotes individual input from every team member. As a result, I know that my opinion matters...I feel heard....I know that my contributions make a difference.....these are important intrinsic motivators that promote a positive workplace environment. For example, each month, our CEO hosts a global call for the entire company in which he provides detailed updates on our progress while clearly articulating specific business objectives we are working to achieve each quarter. During each call, individuals are recognized for going above and beyond. This simple gesture demonstrates EBR's commitment to its employees...its family. EBR not only talks the talk, buy they walk the walk. Secondly, I earn what I feel I am worth. EBR works hard to benchmark compensation by role each year. As a result, I am compensated accordingly. I am not required nor asked to limit my expectations on earnings just because EBR satisfies my intrinsic motivators. If you are looking for a terrific medical device company, with experienced/strong leadership that is committed to making a difference in both employee and patient lives, I strongly encourage you to consider EBR Systems Inc.
Cons
Be prepared to wear different hats at different times. Typical start up company environment and demands. If you are only looking to exchange your time for EBR's money, I suggest looking elsewhere. EBR is looking for people that exemplify a can do, will do attitude. Those not possessing "grit" need not apply.
