      Good working environment and supervisors, bad upper-level management

      Pros

      Employees are given autonomy to do their work. Supervisors are always there when needed but are not constantly looking over shoulders. Coworkers and supervisors are always willing to help. Supervisors are understanding when needing to leave early or have a day off and coworkers are helpful when needing help covering a shift. It's a casual work environment. Vacation time is generous. Insurance and other benefits are very good. Employees look out for each other; for instance, passing around a collection for other employees who are having hardships due to an illness or death in the family.

      Cons

      Overtime is mandatory almost every week, so work-life balance is practically non-existent. Communication between upper-level management and supervisors/other employees, especially regarding work procedures, is a very serious issue, often resulting in employees being blamed for issues that are actually the result of conflicting/inpet communication and/or inept upper management. Severe lack of effective on-site training. Upper-level management consists mainly of people who, although they have extensive knowledge of the corporate side, have no real concept of how things actually work in and flow through the shop and rarely listen to advice from those who do. This sometimes causes issues which they then blame on others.

      Good place to gain skills and build your resume.

      Management doesn't think ahead to prevent problems. Low pay. Good old boy system.
