Pros
ERCO proved to be a safe and supportive environment that valued work-life balance and personal well-being. The company offered opportunities to travel and collaborate across regions, which broadened my perspective and appreciation for diverse design practices. Being closely connected to the art and architecture scene also deepened my understanding of how light influences spatial experiences. I was highly influenced by the passionate grounding spirits at ERCO, specifically the sales team and lighting designers who truly embodied the collaborative energy at ERCO. It was inspiring to be around them, I really truly hope that ERCO recognises their hard work and rewards them fairly. Benefits included full body health checkups, dental, medical and so-so bonuses. Great Work life balance. But... chances of promotion are slim to none, its not a place for growth.
Cons
In a company where many had grown too comfortable, change and innovation often met resistance. Perhaps it stemmed from a desire to preserve their long-standing culture, but it made speaking up and introducing new ideas challenging amidst the prevailing mindset. The marketing lead, though well-intentioned, lacked experience and often let ego guide decisions — making collaboration both an interesting and, at times, frustrating experience.
