Pros

The security world is fascinating, and after working here, I learned a lot. I learned much from my peers and the vendors I communicated with daily. There's free food every Tuesday and Thursday. Eagle Eye Networks also started a 401k as a perk for all their employees, which didn't happen before.

Cons

BYOL - Bring your own laptop. Eagle Eye Networks does not provide you with a computer. No, you must bring your laptop. It's a security company that raised millions of dollars in the early stages of funding, but you must bring your laptop. The owner of the company sets the tone for everything. Did I mention talking down, yelling, criticizing, and demeaning the employees? This is common and about every day; sometimes, it's non-stop. It's scary, yet funny at the same time when you see grown men surrounding the phone with the owner berating every single of them. One might have thought the company is trying to save lives here, but no. The 15-minute screaming at the top of the owner's lungs was probably over a customer support issue that could have been handled easily with the department manager and customer support specialist. It's scary to think, despite all the articles in the past coming out about upper management and toxic work culture, that this type of behavior would end. Sadly, it hasn't. It was the worst experience I have ever worked in my career and personal life as a human being. It's sad to see another human being treat people the way the owner does. There's no compassion towards anyone, but this situation is more unfortunate because these people allow it. After this review, you'll see one or a few good reviews. It's all done in-house to keep the company afloat. Read the rest of the reviews thoroughly and reach out to anyone who has ever worked at this company on Linkedin. They will tell you the truth and nothing but the truth.

Pros

- HR has tried to improve the culture in the past year by encouraging more employee recognition and promoting a diverse workforce. And, some genuinely good people are working to do their best work at Eagle Eye. - Eagle Eye offers free breakfast tacos every Tuesday and provides a simple lunch on Thursday. They brought in a beverage fridge for employees, but they make you pay for any drinks 🤡.

Cons

CULTURE A toxic culture, dated offices, and superficial company values overwhelm even the brightest stars. - Despite recent improvements by HR, the overall work environment is pessimistic. This forces the most talented employees to give in or leave the organization entirely. - Communication and processes between departments are sparse, and decisions are regularly made in silos. - Money is the main deciding factor in all decisions. They’ll only order the cheapest giveaways, buy the cheapest parts for their devices (even if it leads to poor performance), and offer bottom-of-industry salaries. LEADERSHIP Executive leadership is exhausting, crabby, and rules with an iron fist. - The top two executives are heavily ego-driven, constantly talk over people and interrupt during meetings, and are rarely on the same page. They often “misremember” facts, so the story better aligns with their narrative. - The CEO is moody and cold. His priorities regularly change, leading with a “do what I say” mentality. He often sends incomprehensible ALL CAPS EMAILS that stir up confusion and uncertainty. - Other departmental leaders are reluctant to make decisions because they often are overridden or publicly criticized/insulted by the executive team because of a bad decision. - If you’re looking to work for a collaborative and mature workplace, this is not the place to find it. SALARY & BENEFITS Don’t expect them to invest in you or the tools you’ll need to be a successful and healthy employee. - Salary is nearly always in the bottom quartile of industry rates. There is no process in place for annual reviews or salary increases. They’d rather hire younger or less talented people than pay market rates. - If you are in the position to receive equity as part of your package, it will take an eternity to receive paperwork about the strike price, vesting, etc. I know multiple employees that have waited more than a year to receive information on their shares. It feels like a scam. - They’ll give you the “opportunity” to bring your own computer and mobile device, but it really means they won’t be providing you with a corporate computer to use. - The offices are in an old hotel, which hasn’t been updated since 1994. Oh, and you’ll also spend your day working from a $99 IKEA kid’s desk. In the end, if you absolutely need a job to keep the lights on, then Eagle Eye is fine. But if you’re interested in doing good work and growing your career, then it may be best to look elsewhere.

Pros

Room to move around and explore other departments/roles, CEO & President are accessible, no strict budget in general, an easy way to get sales experience when you have none, unlimited PTO, no higher education/degree requirements, their increasing struggle to hire and retain employees can mean the ability to negotiate with a heavy hand. Note: They are preparing to go public.

Cons

A true "good 'ol boys" club, zero company culture, bring your own technology/laptop, untrustworthy leadership, an ungodly amount of internal emails, lackluster benefits, false promises (pro tip: demand stock, an annual evaluation and get it all in writing), little to no remote flexibility, a conservative, contradictory and condescending environment, no stable HR department or guidelines, no annual reviews unless you ask, no annual cost-of-living raise/consideration, lack of diversity, your best interest is constantly in question, CEO & President are too accessible, disrespectful behavior on conference calls, leadership just not showing up to scheduled calls, old-school mentality, leadership does not respect timelines or requests, unreliable product (hello, if that's not a red flag), laughable event/field marketing priorities, likelihood of picking up bad habits, too many unnecessary aspects funnel through the President: from office parking spots to the holiday party's playlist to trade show logistics to who mops the office floors...it's not sustainable or how a large company should be operating at this age; it's also a reflection of trust in employees. Moving on.... lacking and unreliable internal processes, nearly impossible to get stock options unless you're "in the club," Zoho is the CRM, favoritism, illogical penny-pinching tendencies, chaotic priorities, embarrassing chauvinism coming straight from the top, and unnecessary internal fire drills galore. There is a guarantee that you will be reporting to grossly underqualified men, in their position because they have just the right amount of backbone (ie: none) to never stand up for what is right, and continue to allow the company to be run senselessly. A noteworthy shining moment: A member of leadership was late to the Monday morning meeting. The conference room is consistently 90% male, with a table that sits 10+ with plenty of people already standing. As he enters, he asks the only woman of color to give up her seat... a fellow executive mind you, who was 100% qualified, deserving of the role, and amazing but likey hired to meet a metric advised to them as they prepare to go public, and was in her first month with the company.
