The NY office has almost literally no diversity. There’s probably 2 people of color in the entire office. Nothing is organized and it’s a very “everybody chips in until we figure out what we are doing” kind of vibe. No official departments like IT, printing, mailroom services, office services. Instead there are about 3 guys who handle all of that. They do a good job but are clearly overwhelmed.
Very, very small office. Your business will become everybody’s business in no time.
This place pays very well and while the pay is a pro, the con is that it creates a problem with that being the clear driving force for everyone. There’s no genuine concern for employees. No training offered, no volunteering opportunities, no lunch and learns. Camaraderie is low and groups are very cliquey. The support team (the admins) aren’t at all cohesive and don’t even bond with each other and none of them appear approachable at all. Ever.
Again- absolutely NO training protocols. They fully rely on another team member to train you and there are no intranet resources to fall back on.
HR consists of basically two people and they show no genuine concern for your well-being, they only enforce the policies. I’m not even sure why they are called Human Resources… there’s nothing resourceful about them, they just direct you to ask someone else in your group.
Also… People walk around the office swearing all the time for no reason. I’ve never experienced this in a corporate environment before. Maybe within individual groups in a private setting but walking through the kitchen, lobby, and elevator banks throwing around the F word- unprofessional.
Also, expect to work ALL night. Every single day.
I hated my time here.
