Great communication, staff all sharing love of paddling, can use any equipment whenever, free lessons and certifications, care for each employee, continual staff bbq's. Work on the beach!
Cons
Compensation is low, but expected in this industry, low room for growth but it's a family business, very few negatives.
You get to go paddling! If you work on land you can borrow the equipment off-shift. If you work on the water you are literally getting paid to go paddling (and teach/guide). The team is new every year but generally feels like a real team - everyone pulls together to make it happen when needed. You get to help customers have a great time, and they generally are super excited about it.
Cons
Most employees are seasonal. Most positions are entry-level.
