Pros
-Summer Friday hours -WFH 2x a week
Cons
-Excessively poor management: The owner is going to drive the business into the ground. He is largely incompetent on the products he sells (he still calls it Google AdWords in the year 2023…), and exhibits poor people management. -Caveat Emptor: every single good thing about this company has several caveats. WFH days have several rules, cooking contests and nights out are expensive for employees, *some* teams get company lunches and the budget is $10/person, and with inflation, that’s a pretty tough thing to find. Most everyone ends up spending out of pocket often for company things -Low pay & lackluster benefits: pay is low, work is undervalued, health benefits are awful and expensive, PTO of only 10 days, extremely little sick time (3 day/year … ), no holiday bonus, no bonus structure of any kind, and best of all, high performing employees are not recognized or encouraged. -No trust whatsoever: Employees are micromanaged into oblivion by middle management. Even middle managers are being micromanaged by owner though. Middle managers aren’t empowered to answer even the most basic of questions from employees without talking to owner. -Poor structural organization & management: employees are reprimanded for making mistakes on procedures that are not defined by SOPs of any form, or even a training program, yet they are supposed to know these procedures? -Illegal practices: employees are told not to discuss salary, paystubs are not provided, and employees requesting reasonable accommodation for a disability are turned down (just because a disability is not visible does not make this less illegal).
