Pros

Nice corporate office, great coworkers, great for learning about the real estate industry, wild turkey viewing from the courtyard

Cons

They don't pay market, which makes it hard to find quality replacements when people leave, as a result remaining (and already underpaid) employees must pick up the slack. Internal politics are frustrating and stifle innovation and advancement. Corporate culture is stuffy and overly conservative, very few casual dress days (and when it is allowed, a sign is posted at the front desk apologizing for their employees appearance - if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know...), very little telecommuting flexibility. All of this can make employees feel as though they can't be trusted and are little more than a number.

Pros

Sadly, the only "pro" I can see to working at Edina Realty is the opportunity to learn more about the real estate industry.

Cons

Working for Edina Realty as an agent may be great, but working for Edina Realty as an employee is absolutely horrible. You are started out with 7 days of PTO for the first two years of employment, and unpaid time off is not allowed under any circumstances except "emergencies." Pay is very low, management is condescending, and there is little room for advancement.

Pros

Pay and benefits are quite good plus there are lots of employees who have been their upwards of 10 years.

Cons

The company is not quick to make changes to their internal processes. When people leave it feels like employees in that department have to take on additional responsibilities without management looking to finding a replacement. Employees and agents also tend to go over peoples heads without notice and get upper level management involved when it is not necessary. It feels like it is almost impossible to move to another position within the IT department.
