Education Outside is led by smart, passionate people who are committed to making environmental education and hands-on science a part of the daily public school experience for all kids, everywhere. The mission is inspiring, and the organization has been growing fast to meet demand from schools for their program. It was an incredible experience to be part of this effort and to work with so many dedicated folks.
Cons
Working for a very young organization that's grown rapidly means living with a certain amount of ambiguity and uncertainty. On the flip side, there was also a lot of room for individual employees (of all levels of seniority) to have input in the organization's direction, as well as in creating new job descriptions, honing the program, and contributing to the organizational culture.
