IXL removes negative reviews of education.com
Pros
Used to be full of mission-driven, hard-working individuals that cared about each other and the kids
Cons
After being bought by IXL in Nov 2020 everything went downhill. In April IXL laid off almost all edcom employees, at the start of lockdown, after stating many times they were going to keep edcom as an autonomous company. They showed no sympathy or consideration for employees, many who had been at edcom for many years. To learn more about IXL, just google them. The shadiness of their business practices and the terrible "kill and drill" aspect of the product makes it hated by kids and teachers everywhere. Jen and Paul micromanage everything. They do not allow teams to have any autonomy in building or designing products. The pay is low and the company will always be privately owned by Paul and Jen. If you want to have no input in your work and just keep your head down and execute orders like bootlicker then go for it. Otherwise, be warned. Paul and Jen (the leaders) are trash, and sadly so is Rich. On top of that, they have deleted (which is supposed to be against glassdoor rules) all negative reviews of edcom. There are so many better edtech companies to choose from.
