Pros

I loved working at Educators. The pay was great, great 401k match, insurance and I loved my coworkers!

Cons

The President. Hands down. Short tempered. Not caring and put her friends in higher up position when they used to be some of the laziest people at the CU. She does NOT trust a majority of the people who work at the CU to make their own decisions based off of their judgement. She is demeaning and degrading to employees.

Pros

The work itself is rewarding when it comes to helping members. Their are very good products and the overall view point of member first mentality has it pros when it comes to doing right by the member. You can get lucky with a great branch moral as well.

Cons

Senior management has agendas. They choose who they want before they even start interviews. If you are looking to move up in this company, good luck. You have to know the right people and be in the plan. At one point, there was a decent movement where 2 manager positions opened up and subsequently and asst manager position as well opened. There is a rumor that the current CEO stated during that movement shift in the company that they will not hire or promote any white males into the open manager/assistant manager positions. Now I don’t know if that rumor is 100% accurate but I can definitely see it being true. The fact that I can see that being true really states how the company is poorly ran in my opinion. I found myself in constant rejection while being very qualified for the next step. It seems the company is on a downward path when it comes to management so I would reconsider applying if you are looking to grow into a company. The company and specifically the senior management preaches their core values yet the senior management seems to be the only ones who don’t actually abide by it.

Pros

The camaraderie and friendships were by far my favorite thing. There are also opportunities to develop your professional and interpersonal skills. Now-2-Wow company event. Senior management handled Covid really well and made sure staff was taken care of.

Cons

This company operates very highly on a favoritism basis, if you aren't bothered by it then you're either benefiting from it or ignorant to it. You'll often waste your time applying and interviewing for a promotion, they're usually predetermined but they give the impression of inclusivity by letting you apply anyways. You're required to be a member and have an account- beware if you use Educators as your main financial; if you use your earned sick time, someone in HR might look through your account history and interrogate you about why there's transactions occurring while you're not at work. CEO watches cameras and treats managers poorly based off of 1 minute footage in branch, which creates unreasonable expectations that ultimately hurt member service in the name of looking the part rather than actually delivering excellent service.
