I have been working at Eide Bailly full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Care about their people and create many opportunities to advance ones career.

    Cons

Regional firm and can be bureaucratic like any other regional firm.

    Advice to Management

Continue making good business decisions based on common sense. Work on stopping the creep of the politically correct culture into overall culture of the firm.

I worked at Eide Bailly part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Gave good insight into auditing procedures and work. Learned how to prepare financial statements, compilations, reviews, and audits.

    Cons

Did not feel appreciated, kind of like a number. Did not get tips on how to improve.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the workers and provide them positive reinforcement when completing their work, as well as, giving sound advice in a timely manner.

I have been working at Eide Bailly full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent perks/benefits for employees without dependents, and busy season isn't too bad, only 55-60 hours/week. There's rarely enough work to keep staff billable all summer. Co-workers are good, management is awful and toxic.

    Cons

There is a toxic culture of gossip and belittlement-managers badmouth subordinates to other subordinates, and subsequently no one trusts each other. Management often explodes on staff in completely unprofessional ways, ie yelling, screaming, and cussing out staff until they are in tears. Women are frowned upon if they end up taking maternity leave during busy season, and during HR training on sexual harassment, managers/partners...

    Advice to Management

A healthy culture starts at the top, therefore it stands to reason that top leadership is dysfunctional, as the culture is very toxic and draining. Young people will not stay and work for abusive, explosive, sexist managers. This isn't 1950, and women are expected to be treated as equals in the workplace. There is no excuse for a manager or partner screaming at staff members until they are in tears. Honestly, I'm shocked...

  6. "Great Fraternity Culture; Average Pay; Bit of Nepotism; No Real Job Security"

I worked at Eide Bailly full-time

    Pros

Great fraternity culture with many activities and outings at bars/restaurants, which leads to great employee camaraderie. Great work/life balance as with most public accounting firms.

    Cons

Pay is not great compared to comparable positions at other firms in the region having worked/interned at a couple other firms or have friends who work at other firms. Easy to identify who is on the up-and-up versus way out. Been known to fire employees without notice or during semi-annual reviews on an annual basis so there is no job security. Bit of nepotism - hiring of employees' or clients' kids

I worked at Eide Bailly full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great, smart and driven people to work with. Lots of opportunity and flexibility to work on different teams and clients.

    Cons

Having smaller clients = work piles on quick if you dont wrap up the job from the week before, of course there was some politics but thats like every job. Not much work life balance but its public accounting so its expected.

    Pros

    It was close to home.....

    Cons

Terrible communication between depts and employees. Laid off 1 year after company merger after being told that would not happen. I was with the Original company 20 years prior to merger.

I have been working at Eide Bailly full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They care about their employees and provide a very flexible work schedule. A lot of great people with a "work hard play hard" outlook.

    Cons

Public accounting hours are notoriously long. However management at times uses "it's public accounting and that's just the way it is" as an excuse to not try to implement a suggested improvement.

    Advice to Management

Improve the system of giving raises/promotions to have more specific information available on what factors are used to determine these.
