Toxic culture with unrealistic expectations and high turnover
Pros
Get to work loosely within the Film and TV industry.
Cons
Avoid this company if you value stability, transparency, or your mental health. EightPM operates on constant fear, moving goalposts, and unrealistic expectations with little to no clarity on what success actually looks like. “Exceed expectations” is the mantra, but expectations are never clearly defined which creates a culture where employees are made to feel perpetually inadequate and replaceable. Turnover is incredibly high. Almost nobody stays longer than a year unless they’re senior leadership, and after watching so many people suddenly disappear, you end up working in a constant state of anxiety wondering when your turn is coming. I was eventually fired completely out of the blue, which sadly seems to be part of the pattern here. The culture feels deeply unhealthy. Employees are expected to live and breathe the company, sacrificing work-life balance without meaningful reward or recognition in return. Everyone is overworked, burnout is normalised, and humiliation is often used as a management tactic to keep people compliant and insecure. They advertise “unlimited holiday,” but in reality taking time off is heavily discouraged and approvals are extremely difficult to get. Also, take recent glowing reviews with a pinch of salt. Employees were incentivised to leave positive reviews to counter the overwhelming negative feedback. There are far healthier workplaces out there. Stay clear of this one.
