Pros

-Golden mission. An incredible vision that should inspire governments on how to care for and empower vulnerable members of society and promote unity -Great front line staff

Cons

Disorganized. No clear prioritization. Poor human resource planning. High turnover. Burn out for some positions, not enough work for other positions. Poorly structured roles. A lot of people in leadership have not worked outside of the organization for decades and aren't in touch with best practices/ open to others bringing them in. Heirarchical. Discouraging for younger change agents in the organization-- a contrast to its origin story and spirit.

Pros

The staff are amazing and supportive, there is a "we are in this together" feeling. When you do have a happy ending with a participant that gets the help they need and the outcome that you have been working with its truly rewarding.

Cons

no support, no guidance, directors are intimidating and turn a blind eye to the truth and blame others instead of taking responsibility for not knowing anything. For a social justice organization, it is sad to see how much of a dictatorship it really is and to look good will waste your time they will ask you what you think. there is a lost sense of what the overall mission and vision are and it's more about meeting numbers and not allowing different programs to collaborate. Also don't get on their bad side by asking questions if something is ethical or legal, they'll find an excuse to fire you especially if you are a millennial
