Pros

Cons

Warning to anyone applying to Eleanor Health. DO NOT APPLY, DO NOT ACCEPT A JOB FROM THEM. I am a nurse practitioner, and I accepted a job with Eleanor Health. I went through the whole interview process and credentialing process, and signed my job offer. I also quit my previous job in anticipation of starting work with Eleanor Health. Well, they called and told me that they are moving the start date out by 6 months because they don’t have enough patients for me to see! I can’t wait HALF OF A YEAR to start now! I’ve already quit my last job so this decision that they made cost me my job. I'm unemployed now thanks to them and can't even collect unemployment. It will take me MONTHS to find a new job and become credentialed. And they didn’t offer me any alternatives for working with them in the interim. I support my family on my income and not only that but it’s the holiday season, the absolute worst time to do something like this to someone. They knew when they we’re interviewing/hiring me that they didn’t have a large enough patient panel, so why did they wait until I had already committed to them to destroy me like this? So thoughtless and so hurtful. I took a big risk for them and they destroyed me for it. I can’t even imagine how they treat patients if this is what they do to clinicians. They don't care about anything but their bottom line, and based on what happened, they don't seem very financially stable anyway. Despicable. RUN AWAY! DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!

Pros

Team/coworkers Flexible PTO Personal satisfaction of helping a population in need of care (this accounts for 1 star alone in my rating)

Cons

First and foremost, this is a business first and a healthcare facility second. I was hired recently and underwent the usual 2 weeks of training before starting my duties. My entire team expressed immense gratitude for me being able to jump right into things given my previous experience. Sadly, that did not stop leadership from laying me off only 6 weeks into my employment (including the 2 weeks of training). I was assured it was purely a reduction in the company and not at all related to performance or compliance. Last in, first out as they say. This experience was like a whiplash; it ended as quickly as it started with absolutely no warning. I wish I had done more research myself into the company’s history of layoffs and turnover, so I hope whoever reads this will take notice of that. While they can’t tell you who else is being laid off, a quick search showed nobody is safe as I saw people who had been there for years and had been very active in promoting the company’s message to deliver care be laid off in the same way I was. Sadly I was unable to even so goodbye to coworkers as the meeting just appeared as a normal “Check-in” the morning of my termination (more like check-out in the end) and the instant the meeting started it kicked me out of all systems and communications. This was also unprofessional as my coworkers were unaware of the layoff and I was creating reports for them that were obviously never completed. The takeaway: Yes, this is a clinic that treats a population in need. Yes, the work is impactful and you can make a difference. But none of that will mean a single thing if they don’t keep you employed long enough to actually help people. And if you do manage to avoid the first wave of layoffs, you’ll always be on your toes about when it will happen again and if it could be you next.
