Pros

Very limited positives. I would say availability of car parking.

Cons

The founder of the company is very nice and supportive but their next generation has no vision for the company. They are just trying to patch the cracks as and when they appear on temporary basis especially on online platforms. But fact of the matter is company does not have a bright future in hand as they have not been able to retain whatever minimal talent that they had

Pros

1: Get to connect with top level people in the electronic industry. 2: Know about the latest in the industry.

Cons

Let's make a list. 1: Work culture is truly pathetic. One person controls all decisions. Management is just for show. 2: The HR team is only to maintain attendance. 3: Incentives are promised and then taken away because you worked above their expectations and they now have to pay you a high amount, which they don't want to. 4: From personal experience, you got to work 2 full time jobs to make even half the pay scale offered by competitors and MNC's in the same experience levels. 5: Interesting bit is, they proudly flaunt the low pay scale during induction.

I am sorry but these are clearly FALSE ACCUSATIONS. At EFY, we look forward to feedback that we can work on--but nothing can be done w.r.t. lies or totally wrong interpretation. Having said that--if you could write to us directly or share your name here--would like to understand why you have such a WRONG picture of EFY, and perhaps identify some aspects to improve. To put on record, what all is FALSE here: 1. "Work culture is truly pathetic. One person controls all decisions. Management is just for show." From leave approvals to appraisals--all are done by respective HoDs at EFY. In fact, some people find it very strange, when they are asked to appraise their team members and not leave it to the "management". But, we truly believe that accountability can be assigned to HoDs only when they are accompanied by certain powers and privileges. So ONE person controlling everything is non-sense. Unless, one has the wrong impression that just because the head of any organistaion or a nation Example our prime minister) takes critical strategic decisions means that the whole nation is run by a single person! 2. "The HR team is only to maintain attendance." Attendance at EFY is NOT at all maintained by HR team. In fact, EFY is one of the unique organisations where HR does not have any role in disbursement of salaries and reimbursements. All of that is managed by Accounts team. The HR team at EFY is there for two things: i) Recruitment & Induction ii) Be the central coordination agency between different departments to get HR issues resolved At EFY, we have an HR committee that has only employees on it, including HR personnel. All grievances or 'exception cases' go to them and they take decisions on those, and NOT a single decision taken (they have handled over 50 cases now) by them has been over-turned in the last 2 years--since this committee was set up. 3. "Incentives are promised and then taken away because you worked above their expectations and they now have to pay you a high amount, which they don't want to." We have NEVER taken away incentives. We had incentives for our sales team for years. And, they are still there too. This is a COMPLETE LIE. In fact, there are people who will testify that at EFY, accounts team sometimes ends up pushing people to claim their incentives. Many EFYians park their incentives as they feel it's as secure a bank--where they know their money is safe, and helps them avoid unnecessary expenditure. Our accounts team hates this though--because their 'liabilities' columns keeps swelling : ) 4. "From personal experience, you got to work 2 full time jobs to make even half..." We see the fact that EFYians work twice harder on the same pay grade as a complement to all of us. There must be something right in our culture and systems to enable and motivate people to increase their productivity. I also believe that this aspect helps EFYians to be valued more than their peers in the industry. Having said that--I want to clarify that EFYians do not become more productive by staying back late--it's by working smarter and harder. And, of course--we expect more from our people--than others, because we know all of us have much more potential to deliver than we realise. 5. "Interesting bit is, they proudly flaunt the low pay scale during induction." In our induction presentation--we do concede to our new joinees that we are benchmarked at about 70 to 80% level w.r.t. pay grade as compared to industry leaders in Media & Entertainment. We do say this with pride because of two reasons: i) 70% to 80% grade is NOT really bad level (at-least that's what we believe) ii) More importantly, this fact is shared on the slide whose title reads "Things We Are Improving Upon" 6. If by "management is just for show and only one person takes all decision"--you are complaining about the powers given to respective HoDs to take decisions, and directors not getting involved in day to day operations--well that's what we have been trying to achieve. But, to ensure "absolute power does not corrupt the system'--we have ensured that the HR committee is there. Overall, we have received some great constructive feedback through GlassDoor. And, we have acted on some and improved as an organisation. But THIS ONE is truly baseless or a very negatively biased interpretation of facts.

Pros

I have been a journalist for over a decade now and have worked with some renowned media houses. But Electronics For You, aka EFY, is a bit different from all of them. Its not a conventional media house, and I am glad it is not. I have spent over three years in this company. At a point in career where my contemporaries are facing saturation, I have learnt a lot, which has not only added to my profile but also my understanding of professionalism. Pros: - This is a place for people who are open to learn. There are challenges, which make the job even more interesting and involving. But you are not left on your own. You always know that even the most senior person in the company is there to help and guide you, if you ask for it. - The company has transparent systems, so there is hardly any room for your work to be over-shadowed by politics. The management is keen to communicate with every employee and they ensure that employees, of all levels, are comfortable to reach out to them if they feel the need to do so. - EFY is surely one of the finest media houses for women employees. The testimony of the fact is that a whole lot of key positions are being held by ladies. Unlike many media houses, EFY has a women cell too. The management is extremely considerate for women employees. - The salary is credited in your account on time, always. - Quality work and hard work is respected and appreciated at EFY. - The management stands by the employees in the times of their need. - There is no limit of growth, both with respect to designation and salary, for deserving people. - Last, and most important, I joined the company as a journalist. I have learnt management and developed the ability to drive editorial products along with doing some niche work. So, I can proudly say that I have grown as a professional in EFY.

Cons

- Lack of formal training. But there is enough of on-job training that takes place. You are given a task and then, you are allowed to try and error. Although there is help available at every stage, but such processes don't go very well with people who are not open to learn. So, the company is not for people who cannot think out-of-the-box, who cannot accept challenges and who cannot deliver. - Only for multitaskers. Sadly the company cannot accommodate everyone. You have to have the right talent with the right attitude. There is enough to explore in the world, and EFY gives a fair glimpse of it, if you are deserving.
