Pros

Competetive pay for the area

Cons

Working for elite has been such an attack on my mental well-being. They acquire companies through aquistitions make them all redundant and then don’t train their current staff on the products. My role was to help customers fix faults and issues and I had no idea how to do my day to day job because I wasn’t trained on the products. Several times I’d have to pass faults onto management and they just wouldn’t take ownership. Daily I would be subject to a torrent of angry customers because their services weren’t working and we just didn’t have the knowledge to fix it. You’d then be getting grief internally from management and sales and grief from the customer. You find yourself willing the days and weeks away which is not a healthy way to live. I don’t know what’s happened here really but too many people in high positions have no knowledge of the industry and won’t take responsibility.

We'd like to sincerely apologise for your experience of working at Elite. We pride ourselves on looking after our employees and take their well being very seriously. Working within telecoms and IT especially within the faults/engineering department can sometimes be high pressure, especially in times of major outages. The main reason customers will contact the faults or engineering department is due to things not going right, (which we manage effectively) but technical issues can't always be avoided! That’s why we encourage and support our employees taking 15 minute comfort breaks away from their desks in the morning, and in the afternoon, additional to their lunch break across our teams. It's important that when there are high workloads and there may be frustrated customers speaking with us, employees should take time away from their desks and phones to do what they enjoy. Doing this helps promote calmness, empathy and increase your happiness on a day to day basis. Our relaxed working environment and open plan office mean that there is always a supervisor/manager on hand to escalate an issue to should a difficult conversation get too much, and we encourage our staff to openly communicate their needs within the workplace. We appreciate that team members wish to take ownership of a situation and encourage it but our fully trained managers are there to help you deal with challenging situations. Elite has a structured, week long induction and training plans for all new starters as well as ongoing shadowing and training opportunities as well as offering all employees the chance to be mentored by more experienced members of staff to help newcomers develop, grow and succeed. We have a three month probation review where new employees that pass this milestone can express any concerns regarding training before completing their 6 month probation. Any issues on product knowledge or difficultly completing roles can be addressed prior to an official review - we want our employees to succeed and ask that employees help us to make sure that happens by voicing any concerns. We also have our ‘Make a Difference’ scheme which actively encourages employees to speak out regarding improvements that can be made in any area of the Company. We want employees to get the most they can from Elite, so in turn Elite can continue to offer its customers the excellent service that we deliver, as we're all driving towards one goal and vision. We do wish you every success in your future role, and can only apologise again that you didn't enjoy your time with us, we greatly appreciate the feedback and the chance to enhance our company.

Highway to Employment Hell

Pros

Break room with sofa - great space to compose yourself and question your employment choices. There's many pissed off staff, so at least you always have someone to cry with.

Cons

If you're reading these reviews before interviewing/ accepting a job - please take a note of the job titles and how they correspond to the star rating. If you're looking for a job in Sales/ Account Management/ HR - I'm sure you'll have a great time here. However, if you're looking for a job in a finance/ engineering/ faults role - do yourself a favour and walk away from this one. As other reviewers have stated, there is a "Magic Circle" in Elite, mostly made up of the sales team, HR, management, and directors. If you are lucky enough to find yourself in this circle, great. If not, you'll be joining the rest of us in employment hell. You will likely experience bullying from staff in management roles, find yourself wondering just how's it possible for the sales team to be this incapable of selling a working solution, have all your issues ignored/ dismissed by the HR department and to top all of this off, you will likely also not be being paid a fair wage. If the company had to publish staff turnover numbers it would paint a very worrying picture.

Thank you for your contribution to your department over the years, we value your feedback on Elite as an employer. Elite Group offers a variety of different roles and all of those roles are integral to the business's success. In our fast-paced and changing industry, it is important that our management team and HR team are aligned, to promote fairness, equality, and success in every department across Elite Group. We have recently undergone a company restructure, which has allowed us to properly review salaries, workloads and policy consistency across all departments within Elite. We have recognised areas where we can improve and are making changes where necessary. Elite Group reviews employee turnover regularly and benchmarks against XpertHR metrics. In 2018 – 2019 Elite Group was 1.58% lower than UK average turnover and in 2019-2020 after seeing the first impacts of COVID-19, Elite Group was only 0.03% higher than UK average turnover rates. Our Learning and Development and Sales teams have collaborated over the past year, resulting in a highly thought out induction and training plan. This has been rolled out for all new starters within the sales team to ensure our complex solutions are understood by every salesperson, sold and implemented correctly – right first time. We are now in the process of introducing new induction and training plans across all departments. Our aim at Elite is to give all employees the tools to shape their own careers, whether with Elite Group or taking opportunities at other companies. Elite Group works hard to look after the well-being of every employee and welcome suggestions as to how we can improve on this even further. HR and management review employee feedback through anonymous surveys, regular wellbeing calls, and daily manager check-ins/outs as well as scheduled one-to-one meetings. HR is on hand to support all employees and offer guidance in employment and personal related matters affecting them and deal with each query on a case by case basis, reviewing all factors. Elite has a strict anti-bullying policy and any allegation is followed up, paying the utmost attention.

Pros

Was a good company to work for at the beginning of my career, then went down the hill after that.

Cons

Outsourced Network to 3rd party supplier, no inhouse network engineers lack of technical support. General services & customer service level dropped since the company restructure under paid for the work no progression within the company unless your part of the magic circle (Friends & Favouritism) Senior Management alway shout about the company values, but don't really care about the culture and service as long as monies coming in Had let go of some very good staff, without replacement in place
