Pros

The pay was halfway decent.

Cons

Poor management starting at the very top. Also, dishonesty stems from the top and was slowly trickling down. Upper management pushed away anybody who was trying to help the lab properly. People are in places of management with no real qualified experience leading to safety and quality issues in the lab. They have made it very obvious that they want nobody with any proper experience working there. Sexism is a real possibility(mainly on lab side) with upper management given the recent decisions in letting 3 highly qualified women go for no good reason.

We strive to make sure every employee feels valued and included when making key decisions for the company. The safety and quality of our lab testing is our top priority at Ellie. Pros

Pros used to be that Ellie was a start-up and quickly growing. Lots of changes and ways to make a difference. That is no longer the case. The company is stagnant and firing employees like it is going out of style. At least 4 senior level employees were fired just before Christmas. The CEO/Founder could care less about employees. Private Equity has taken over the majority ownership and it shows.

Cons

Leadership is absolutely the worst I have ever worked with. The one person that should be fired, the CTO, is kept on and able to push out the employees that disagree with his ineptness. It is such a toxic environment that most employees would have already left if they could find jobs elsewhere. The market is tight now, keeping those people trapped. The employees that were fired breathe a sense of relief surprisingly enough. The best thing about Ellie is their ex-employee network.

Questionable management practices

Pros

Casual, relaxed, hybrid work environment. You can keep your job without doing much work as long as you are in the good boys club.

Cons

This company's facade of professionalism quickly crumbled, revealing a toxic work environment and questionable management practices. The leadership at Ellie Diagnostics is severely lacking. The company culture is one of exclusion and favoritism. Unfair treatment and salary discrimination at its best. Many employees are let go for speaking up about questionable practices and workplace harassment. Plus, employee benefits are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. The processing of laboratory samples is unethical, often guessing and producing inaccurate result. The company’s success relies solely on UPS’s performance, and is not a good way to run a business. The technology provided for veterinarians are severely lacking, causing unnecessary roadblocks. It's perplexing how a company that claims to be at the forefront of diagnostics can neglect to invest in technology that works to drive its core operations.
