Her commitment to creating a "psychologically safe environment," as stated on the company website, is undermined by her tendency to side with the owner, even when complaints are raised against him. In the past she has suggested employees should seek therapy rather than her addressing any concerns or issues within the company. A high majority of the team does not trust her and tries to avoid any interaction or communication with her unless absolutely necessary.
Remote happy hours are often a waste of time with lame games that adults don't want to play. The team already communicates effectively throughout the week within their teams and do not want to sit on a “happy hour” call with the Founder/CEO and the Chief Human Resources Officer for several hours after their work day has ended. Especially knowing anything they say will be discussed amongst the Founder/CEO and the Chief Human Resources Officer.
If you consider working here, be cautious about the so-called "unlimited PTO." The company may entice you with this benefit, but in practice, taking more than a day or two off is problematic in their eyes. When someone tries to take more than a few days off they are met with "you haven't earned the right to take PTO yet" or "if I let you take time off, we have to let everyone take time off".
