Pros
I got the firm offer through a program at my university. Had 3 rounds of interviews, but it was definitely worth it.
1. Depth and scope of my internship
I spend around 4 weeks working on a strategy project and the other 4 weeks working on a data project. I personally enjoyed seeing both perspectives and learned a lot from both projects. The tasks I was given were meaningful and I felt like I had a good exposure to what being an employee would be like.
2. International Exposure
I am fully fluent in both French and English, and I've noticed that, unlike a lot of firms in Paris, Emerton has a very international team and values it a ton. You meet people from all over the world and there is a real yearning to include everyone at the firm, regardless of where they come from.
3. Employee Engagement
Emerton is big on employee engagement. For instance, employees are running a marathon together on a weekend in May. Employees regularly have lunch together and the atmosphere is very friendly.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at Emerton.
Cons
Emerton is a consulting firm, meaning that work hours could potentially be long.
