Pros

The supervisor on the floor is great. Instills fear into employees to keep them on edge. Early hours so you have a lot of time for yourself the rest of the day. Got paid on time.

Cons

I worked there for the better part of a year and the turnover rate was astronomical. Two people hired and two people fired every week. In summer it was too damn hot and in winter I was shivering from the cold.

Pros

Struggling to think of any... uh.. they pay you on time each week. That's nice.

Cons

Zero job security. Boss takes pleasure in firing people. People rarely last more than 2-3 weeks. They have a ridiculous turnaround rate. They pay just over minimum wage. Basically what this place does it get bins full of garbage shipped in from department stores, hardware stores, sporting goods stores, etc. They get pallets full of items that have been returned, recalled, or items that the stores were hopeless to ever sell. Most of it is broken. The "testers" test the items to see if it works, or partially works. Then they hand it off to the "listers" who take pictures of it and sell it on ebay. I was a lister. When a truckload comes in it's easy enough. But then all the good stuff gets listed. Then, with nothing to list, you'll be screamed at that you need to keep making listings. So you'll resort to listing items that nobody will buy. Then they scream at you for making bad listings. And then they eventually fire you. The training is terrible. They get you in there, the trainer is too worried about getting their stuff done, no time to train. Then they put you on your own, leaving you to fail. They'll jump all over you and fire you for any little mistake at any time. They hire tons of ex-cons and guys on house arrest. I was ok with that, but they all agreed this place was worst than prison. At the beginning and end of day you're scanned with a metal detector to come in or out, also each time you use the bathroom. The warehouse you work out of is a DUMP in the middle of the ghetto. Some days in the winter it was 30 degrees in there. Everyone who works there is miserable. Morale is incredibly low. Not a smile to be seen.

Pros

Quick training, pay increase, quota driven, and room for advancement in a family run business. Owner has open door policy and is very open to employee suggestions. Friendly, diverse work force, and allows for music and coffee. Early hours allow for employees time in late afternoon for taking care of personal business. Flexible time off for illness or personal business. This profession allows you to aquire experience in listing on ebay and an online store that can be applied for home business as well. Overall this is a great first time job as well for experienced workers.

Cons

Not a modern structure that can occasionally be chilly during extreme weather conditions which is expected with older buildings.
