Pros

Salary and commission Working hours

Cons

They purposely built next tech girls to use it as an entry to get into businesses They told us to message all senior managers in our chosen area, and pitch them FAKE jobs to build a relationship, even the directors would pride themselves on doing this Also gave us targets to also pitch FAKE jobs to candidates to get leads, 5 leads a day and act like we knew where the candidates had worked to get the names of old managers to send similar CV's to The office is quiet you can literally hear a pin drop Only a few people making money People are incredibly boring with no personality The manager had his favorites, does not treat everyone equally spend time with some but not others

Thank you for sharing your experience of working with us. We are pleased that you highlighted features such as our excellent salary and commission structure as well as our flexible working hours which have been created to give employees a greater work/life balance compared to many other recruitment agencies. Your point about Next Tech Girls is inaccurate though. Next Tech Girls is a CSR initiative designed to get more school girls interested in a future career in tech which we have invested a lot of financial resources into getting it established within the community. We are immensely proud of that fact that in the last few years we have facilitated over 800 school girls into technology work experience opportunities with private and public sector companies. Unashamedly we hope that our relationships with clients improves by doing more than simply offering a recruitment service. Through Next Tech Girls we believe the way we choose to differentiate ourselves makes a genuine difference to future school girls careers and to the sector as a whole. Part of our Consultants role is to speak to our clients and these senior managers are often potential candidates so it is common practice to discuss potential opportunities that may be of interest to them. But there is no benefit to us or them to be dishonest in these conversations. Empiric is a Company that enjoys year on year growth in revenues, with sales of over £50m it’s clear that many of our consultants contribute to this success and in turn we are proud to say that many consultants earn very well. We have a very open culture within Empiric which is reflected in our clear and transparent commission and reward scheme. All career progression is based on individual performance so we take any indecencies of favouritism seriously and this is something that will be raised internally. We are genuinely sorry that your experience to Empiric wasn’t a positive one so please get in contact with us at info@empiric.com if you would like to discuss in confidence any of the points you have raised further.

Pros

- Good training, under some managers - Good CSR initiative - Fairly good commission structure

Cons

- Extremely long working hours - Low base salaries - Silly rules – e.g. can’t pop out unless it’s 10am or 4pm, or can’t eat on the desk in the morning, among others – employees constantly treated like school children - Leaving on time is looked down upon – despite the stupid working hours - Management is really hit and miss - Crazy KPIs

Thank you for providing feedback on your time at Empiric and for highlighting some of the issues we are proud of. We pride ourselves on the investment that we make into all of our Consultants to improve their skills and ensure that they trained up on the latest techniques. This is supported with close mentoring from our high billers to share their knowledge and experience. Our initiatives on improving gender equality and minority representation within the technology and recruitment industry is something that stands us apart from our competitors and this is reflected in the inclusive and supportive company culture that we have created. Our basic pay is above average for the recruitment industry and for transparency we’ve listed below the range of salaries we offer. What we are proud to shout about is our excellent commission structure compared to other recruitment agencies and gives Consultants the opportunity to make a lot of money. A number of our recruiters regularly take home six figure yearly salaries so while we all work towards targeted KPIs the rewards are fantastic. Trainee Recruitment Consultant: <£22k Consultant: £22k-£28k Senior Consultants: £29k-£34k Principal Consultant: £35k-£45k Manager: £65k+ Director: £100k+ Our hours are 08.30 – 18.00 and on Fridays we finish early at 17.30 and we definitely don’t have a culture where leaving on time is looked down upon. We have also introduced flexible lunch breaks where you can take up to 1.5 hours to allow you to fit in a workout if you want. As with many companies we have core hours where we expect Consultants to be at their desks but we do provide breaks throughout the day. We’re sorry that you have left Empiric less than satisfied with your time spent with us so please get in touch with us confidentially at info@empiric.com if you would like to discuss any of the issues you have raised further.
