Pros
The people really are the brand: some of the smartest, nicest and most fun individuals I have ever worked with. I made friends for life whilst working there. If you’re hungry to succeed, you’re pushing on an open door. Leadership are good at spotting potential and paving the way for your success. You get exposure to senior clients early on, and, if you prove yourself, you can fly. I joined in an entry-level role and left as an experienced consultant. Company culture was exceptional; lots of fun and not afraid to look at itself in the mirror and laugh. This was wrapped up in a brilliant office space. Team members get very well looked after; it felt like being part of a family.
Cons
I never felt like I truly ‘delivered’ anything; lots of ?!s best work is quite upstream and about inspiring clients to think differently, but far away from launching a product or service. At worst it felt a bit like ‘innovation theatre’. There’s no doubt that the Accenture acquisition changed things. I left during the transition but could see the impact; more typical consultancy type work and having to network and embed within the mothership. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you want a traditional consultancy career, but certainly felt different from the business I joined.
