Cons
When I started, it was an amazing and inspiring place to work. However, as the company's business situation changed, the work conditions and atmosphere worsened significantly. I advise anyone applying for a job there to read the most recent comments to assess if it’s the right place for you. The most important red flags include:
- No stability. Layoffs occurring every three months, affecting many employees regardless of their performance—sometimes due to personal animosities. Even after the owner reassured the anxious teams that it wouldn’t happen again, the practice continued.
- The company practices disciplinary layoffs as a standard approach.
- Employee feedback is ignored. With retro meetings and one-on-one sessions constantly being canceled, it's difficult to express concerns. The company’s stance is that, as a startup, frequent changes and layoffs are inevitable, and anyone unhappy with that is free to leave.
- Leadership is highly unprofessional, with many managers lacking experience in team management. Hiring decisions are often based on personal connections rather than skills.
- The work environment is disorganized. Additionally, every three months, the company shifts its strategy—not based on data but on personal opinions and visions—leading to wasted work and inefficiency.
- Very little inclusivity. Although the company aimed to have an international profile and hired English-speaking individuals, the managers often switched to Spanish or Catalan also during meetings, thereby excluding others despite multiple requests to conduct them in a language that was understandable to everyone.
- Hostile environment. People in higher positions often raised their voices, constantly interrupted others, and used an aggressive manner of expression. Those who were concerned about this or reported it to HR have already been fired.
