Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and recognizing the diversity of project types in our work. While we respect that former employees have varying experiences, several of the statements in this review do not accurately reflect our firm or our current workplace.
Our work has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including several received as recently as 2025. Our projects span residential, workplace, cultural, and institutional sectors, and we remain actively engaged in design-driven work across all of these areas.
Additionally, the description of our office environment refers to a space that we no longer occupy. We recently relocated to a new studio designed to support collaboration and contemporary architectural practice. The suggestion that our current workplace reflects the conditions described in this review is inaccurate.
The review also raises concerns about leadership and qualifications. Like many architecture practices of our size, our leadership team includes individuals with both design and business expertise to support the operational and strategic needs of the practice. The individual referenced as “untrained” holds a business degree and has spent more than twenty five years in senior management roles, more than half of them prior to joining 1100.
Finally, our culture of teamwork, focus, and accountability is not for everyone. Our leaders expect high levels of professionalism, collaboration, and performance from every member of the team. At times those expectations can be demanding, challenging, and even difficult. However, the firm’s longevity and continued success are due in no small measure to the standards we hold ourselves to and the many talented professionals who have built their careers here.
We wish the reviewer the best in their future endeavors.
