Pros

Out of all the jobs I've had (many), 1Password is an amazing company. By no means is ANY company perfect, but 1Password is always willing to do the right thing. This goes for their customers AND their employees. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is always at the forefront of many decisions being made. People are openly encouraged to push the status quo and to actively find areas of growth which are then supported! So far, this is definitely a company I see myself at for quite some time. OH, and the onboarding led by Sean Foster is absolutely amazing! From the time you sign your offer until the day you sign on (and further), Sean makes sure you're taking care of.

Cons

Like I mentioned above, no company is perfect. There are things 1Password could do better, but I'm going to attribute these all to growing pains. In the last 1.5 years, 1Password has almost tripled in size, so obviously there are processes that once worked now don't fully work. Or new processes being brought in on a trial and error basis to see if they'll work with all the new hires. Besides that, there's nothing *big* here to talk about.

Pros

- Awesome founders when they were involved in the day-to-day - Great benefits

Cons

- Lost a lot of what made this place special during the scale up from 100-1000 employees - Hired a ton of outside leadership which ultimately resulted in a culture shift and many of the people who worked there the longest leaving

Pros

* Flexible working arrangements and quite a bit of autonomy. * A genuinely supportive manager and a collaborative, positive team environment. * Competitive pay for the role and responsibilities.

Cons

In recent years the company has shifted in a direction that feels very different from the organisation I originally joined. * There is a strong emphasis on a “high performance culture”, but there is limited structure or support in place to help employees develop the skills needed to meet those expectations. * Career progression and compensation increases can feel closely tied to visibility rather than the quality or impact of the work itself. * The company is moving away from its fully remote approach. In-person events that were once optional are now mandatory, even for teams that may not directly benefit from them. The locations chosen do not always appear to consider the needs or circumstances of a globally distributed workforce, and employees are now required to go through formal accommodation processes simply to avoid international travel due to health or safety concerns.
