Pros

- good comp for Canadian company - remote first - interesting work, lots of opportunity to build as the company is scaling up. Not as much red tape which you might find in bigger companies - team of genuinely kind people who are happy to help if you reach out - generally people are quite sharp and a pleasure to work with

Cons

- lots of change, sometimes with little notice. Be prepared to roll with the changes - high performance environment, which might not be for everyone. Very metrics driven - feel some career stagnation, it’s a good place to work as a high performing ic but feel like there is not a clear path to management - your mileage may vary based on your manager, same as any company

Pros

- Awesome founders when they were involved in the day-to-day - Great benefits

Cons

- Lost a lot of what made this place special during the scale up from 100-1000 employees - Hired a ton of outside leadership which ultimately resulted in a culture shift and many of the people who worked there the longest leaving

Pros

* Flexible working arrangements and quite a bit of autonomy. * A genuinely supportive manager and a collaborative, positive team environment. * Competitive pay for the role and responsibilities.

Cons

In recent years the company has shifted in a direction that feels very different from the organisation I originally joined. * There is a strong emphasis on a “high performance culture”, but there is limited structure or support in place to help employees develop the skills needed to meet those expectations. * Career progression and compensation increases can feel closely tied to visibility rather than the quality or impact of the work itself. * The company is moving away from its fully remote approach. In-person events that were once optional are now mandatory, even for teams that may not directly benefit from them. The locations chosen do not always appear to consider the needs or circumstances of a globally distributed workforce, and employees are now required to go through formal accommodation processes simply to avoid international travel due to health or safety concerns.
