Pros

It's a small company, so each role carries a lot of responsibility. This means lots of learning and experience for individuals early in their career.

Cons

The culture is not forward thinking or friendly towards women. The pay is not really competitive, and growth is almost impossible considering the small size of the company.

Your peers will be the best part of working with this company. There are some seriously talented people you will get to work on projects with.

I always felt like I stood out from day 1 because I was one of very few people at this company that didn’t know leadership or co-workers personally, but I ignored that. At first, I thought I landed an absolute dream job. Not the best pay or really any benefits, but I thought I found a team of fine people to surround myself with everyday. Slowly, I started to see cracks within the management. Disagreements on every little thing. One boss saying it’s ok and one saying it’s unbelievably not ok to do the same exact thing that was approved by others. That’s when it felt like I was walking on eggshells 40 hours a week. Anytime I would talk to other people about this feeling, they deflected and said that they never experienced that with leadership (which I believe to be true for them). I think the one truth at this company is that the management is uncoordinated. My highlights here? Being yelled at by one leadership for reaching out and making connections at a vendor (like I was taught to do and learn from) and being genuinely berated to feel stupid in front of my direct boss. My direct boss didn’t stand up for me for a single second as I cried and answered the same questions over and over. I almost never showed up again and I should’ve followed through then. Second highlight. The CEO does monthly meetings with the entire staff to go over company wellness/finance/general economy stuff. The last 3 of these meetings I attended, it was stressed that nobody should stress over economic movement and think they would lose their job over that. Because they “pride themselves in doing good business and running the business in a way that nobody loses their job over accounting reasons” Wouldn’t you know it…. The good Christian staff of 2-COM pulls me into a 1 on 1 meeting as usual but this time lets me go. “For financial reasons” because the accounts I was originally going to manage “fell through”. Though the son of one of the leadership slowly (and with muchhhhh attitude) took over my biggest project before they let me go. And I saw the writing on the wall with that one. But I am not stupid enough to not realize they were at a lipscomb job fair the week before I got let go looking for new talent. But what I really think? I think it is sadly true to say that the staff here has favorites. It’s a politics game that I’ve never liked or wanted to play. I think they are people that try to do good but fall short.
