      Pros

      The people were the single best part of my work experience. They are all hungry, determined, creative, and fun! Other pros: Healthy lunches Great location Casual work environment

      Cons

      Well, where do I start? - Senior management is very cliquey and not as transparent as they say to be. There is obvious favouritism in the office offering others longer leashes to do what ever they please. - Leaders in the company have a track record of "performing" (partially evaluated/based on favouritism), but in most cases don't have the ability to actually lead a team - No product vision. Yes, you (senior management) were trying things out, but at least be transparent to the whole company what you think will work or not. You have some of the greatest minds in the company that can give you immediate feedback, don't waste it. - Decisions made by senior management are questionable and not explained very well, other than, "people are excited about it". WHICH PEOPLE?!?!

      Yikes. Thank you for the feedback, it is really detailed and thoughtful - it's definitely made me introspective and motivated to improve on transparency and involving more of the team in decisions. I am confident we've improved and grown since this review but will do more introspection to understand if both I and the company have done so. - Andy

      Pros

      500px has been an amazing place for me to grow personally and professionally. The senior management really cares about investing in the staff. There's huge opportunity to come and grow the company itself, too. It's truly a place where culture is put on the highest pedestal, and bringing new people in is taken very seriously to preserve the awesome team we have.

      Cons

      I've seen a lot from being here for over two years. As our CEO focused on growing out the exec team there was turbulence in figuring out what our focus should be and how we are going to get there. The great news is I can honestly say we're in a solid place now, and are putting in the foundations to get us to where we need to be.

      Pros

      Amazing product on web and mobile - get to look at world-class photography all day long Passionate community with over 7 million members Great team, hardworking, people who really care No meeting Thursdays to give time to innovate and create - Focus on being a global business and hiring accordingly - employees speak 14 languages

      Cons

      Have teams in both San Francisco & Toronto so need to be attuned to working across time zones and locations Lots of change typical for a growing start-up - doesn't suit those looking for more predictable jobs, but creates lots of opportunity for those who want to make their mark
