Poorly Run with Unethical Practices and Low-Quality Tutoring Materials - SAT Reading and Writing Tutor 7EDU Employee Review

- The company eliminated pay for prep time, making the spurious argument that "experienced teachers" do not need prep time, and that if they were going to pay for prep time, they could just hire a less experienced teacher for less money. - The company does not offer pay for other activities outside of tutoring hours, including student records logging, messaging, etc. These duties are mandatory, but unpaid, which would be in violation of labor laws. - 7EDU asks its tutors to work highly inconvenient hours with no overtime pay. For instance, I worked on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve (in the evening, no less). They also promise an abundance of hours, but don't deliver on this (a few inconveniently-timed sessions were often all I had). - When I politely provided my reasoning for why prep time should be paid, the company suddenly stopped offering me any students, effectively firing me for simply pointing out an unreasonable/unethical practice. - The company's practice tests often have errors. This is likely because they underpay their test writers (they wanted me to write an entire SAT Reading passage + questions in a very short amount of time, arguing that their current writers do it in these hours). This type of low-quality test prep content does not help students nor teachers. Of course, if teachers spent time correcting these errors, that would be more unpaid work.
