      Pros

      Great opportunity for growth for those willing to put in the effort. Promotion is from within. Good job variety. Great management training program.

      Cons

      All management promotions require a change in location. Working conditions are harsh, no heat or air in most stores (other than the office area. All promotions based mainly on reaching monthly sales goals. They will fire with no notice. Family owned company - no corporate change.

Understanding relocating for promotions can be difficult for some people, relocating allows 84 Lumber Company to continue to promote our management team nearly 100% from within. It is very hard work in this industry, but we provide our Associates the tools and opportunity to be successful, and success is what we wish for everyone!       Excellent management, people take an active interest in your long term development in house.

      Cons

      Inflexible corporate expectations, reform and proposals don't appear to travel far past people you can see.

      Pros

      Good benefits, pay is decent. If you work from home FT as a Manager , you can also run your own business while on the clock get paid for it. Who wouldn't want to work there.

      Cons

      You can work your butt off, put in more hours than you should and get no respect in return.
