Pros

Working from home and their benefit package are pluses.

Cons

Company values changed when the founders sold to an investment group. What was once a company that truly helped families, became an organization only concerned with how many phones dials Advisors can make in one day in order to refer families to as many assisted living communities as possible so as not to lose referral fee revenue. The only thing management is interested in helping is their bottom line. The stress and pressure are high, and their pay scale is low. Every year they make it more and more difficult to attain the income you earned the prior year. Also, if you are looking to have any flexibility in your work-from-home environment, look elsewhere. They offer zero flexibility.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re always grateful to hear different perspectives on working at A Place for Mom and continue to use this feedback to improve our workplace. A Place for Mom was founded as a business to provide free assistance to families looking for care for their loved ones. Now in our 18th year, APFM continues to fulfill this need. As a for-profit business, we are able to offer this service 100% free for families, relying on our community partnerships to keep us supported financially. We believe this arrangement offers the best outcome for all involved. As for the employee experience at A Place for Mom, this is a high priority for us, and that’s why we always encourage all employees to talk to their manager or to human resources if any issues arise. If you wish to talk with Human Resources, please feel free to email HR@aplaceformom.com and we are happy to talk.

Pros

My time as a Senior Living Advisor included both learning opportunities and difficult aspects. I appreciated the chance to help families and build my skills in the role.

Cons

I felt the compensation didn’t fully match the level of responsibility and workload. Over time, the pay structure became one of the main reasons my role was difficult to stay in long term.
