Pros
The gym, longevity, and no overtime. Everybody is in and out like clock work. If its a good sales year they give Christmas in July bonuses.
Cons
If your sickly or have a sickly child don't bother. They are not compassionate to you taking more than your scheduled 5 PTO days a year. REGARDLESS of the reason. And half a days for appointments nope. The rule of thumb is to make this a condition of your employment when offered a job. They don't care they still throw it in your face come review time or want to move up. And P.S. I have worked for 4 other companies since them and had wonderful experience and support and never had the time off I took thrown in my face or used as a reason to hold me back from promotion. Which brings me to the awful way they treated black folks. They had a manager there that addressed them by boy or girl. My supervisor would always make these really sarcastic comments and put people down and just talk to folks so degrading. All except her pet. and the white girl I didn't realize was promoted to take my place while I was out on maternity leave. I started as an accounting clerk. My first job with my associates in accounting. The first year I was there I finished my Bachelors. With my one year experience I applied to an Accounting 1 position. I was brought into a conference with my supervisor and her manager and had this in writing to sign. I was told I had to wait because I have shown I don't have the maturity or right mentality to take on this role. 1 I applied for a job without asking my supervisor first. 2. My attendance 3. Because I asked the department secretary are we allowed to bring our own bread and bagels to use in the cafeteria toaster or only the ones you buy. Instead of asking my supervisor. I swear to God if they allowed your to scan and stuff and attach it I would cause that's how bad I am not lying its on AAA headlined paper. That's when I heard stories from a couple black folks that started 15, 20, 25 years ago with no experience no college started the same time as whites in low jobs like cashier. Just keep moving up and all there attempts were turned down so they just stop trying and was thankful they had a job. During the time I was there I watched one of the white girls from their era go from accountant 2, and then senior accountant while they were all clerks just like me.
