Great company but not much progression for certain roles - HR Advisor AB Sugar Employee Review

AB Sugar is a great place to work if you're looking to develop. It benefits from being small enough to instantly feel included and "noticed", but has a high enough personnel turnover of bright people to keep things interesting and driven. The office is great, the people friendly and the work highly varied.

Due to the small size, career options at head office are limited. Some policies weren't always clear, but to be fair Covid didn't help matters and I saw real improvement before I left.

- Independence to get things done - Work from home is generous

- Ruthless new CEO, not a people person, a real disdain for the ordinary staff; - No career progression after top performance reviews (i had 3 years but many had a decade or more of no progression); - Below market salaries - Finance dept. rules all things, even areas they are not qualified in (e.g. commercial & engineering);
