Pros

CLIO has attracted talented, versatile employees with strong educational backgrounds. The benefits are decent. The subscription databases are good products, and the variety of products can make the 'daily grind' more interesting.

Cons

Management is unprofessional, sometimes very reactive and emotional, difficult to communicate with. Executive emails are often written in teenage-text-speak; executive management's message reiterates 'we're in this field for fun, not to get paid' and cites the ease at which employees can be replaced with recent grads from nearby universities. Employees are not paid a fraction of what they are worth (mid-career employees can expect salaries typically reserved for recent college graduates). HR is sub-par and can be difficult to communicate with. The quality of content in many products is also sub-par; company seems to be focusing on cost over content (resulting in some print products that are sloppy). Employee turnover rate is too high, due to limited growth opportunities, low pay, unsatisfactory management, and lack of clear, team-based company leadership.
