Pros

Children were cute, a lot of fun. Curriculum and methodology have a lot of potential, but still need work. Facilities were big, teachers had their own faculty office.

Cons

The center in Ma'anshan had no HR department, and no written employee policy, so 'rules' were changed randomly and verbally, and if you don't have the right information, you were blamed or penalized. On top of this, in spite of franchise recommendations that ABIE provide an English immersion environment, the Ma'anshan center had only the local teachers speaking English, and not that fluently, so translations (of meetings, feedback, etc.) were imperfect and surely biased by personal agendas. Prepare for breaches of contract, threats, even forgeries and justifying breaches by claims that the contract is not a 'real' contract. So there really is no integrity or ethics in the running of this center, and pretty much everything -- schedules, rules and even contract clauses -- are subject to whim and interpretations dictated by capricious self-interest. There are lies and machinations on visa cancellations and salary deductions that can be considered criminal.
