Pros

Overall, the benefits program is generous but since most are reimbursed after the fact, employees must initially cover the costs themselves. This system may not be ideal for everyone, particularly if you don’t have the funds available upfront.

Cons

My time at this organization was marked by a toxic work culture where bullying and mobbing were prevalent. Unfortunately, management often overlooked or failed to address these issues, which created a stressful and emotionally draining environment. There is a serious need for stronger leadership and a greater focus on employee well-being.

Pros

They are good at touting lofty principles

Cons

My experience working with ACTRA was deeply disappointing. The environment was plagued by unprofessional behavior, including instances of harassment and shouting, which created a toxic and demoralizing atmosphere. Meetings were excessive, unproductive, and often felt like a substitute for real action or meaningful collaboration. Financial management was among the worst I’ve witnessed—disorganized, shortsighted, and ultimately harmful to the organization’s goals. Poorly thought-out decisions were the norm rather than the exception, leading to unnecessary complications and inefficiencies. Leadership, particularly Mary Kelly, failed to inspire confidence. Her approach often came across as condescending and ineffective, serving more as a figurehead than a constructive leader. Communication was lacking, and when it did occur, it was frequently dismissive or disrespectful.
