Pros
Very consistent income for a therapist and the most I've made in this profession. It's a different business model than most spas and the majority of sessions are couples massages--which was strange at first but I find I enjoy working with a partner since I've always worked alone all day. The massage team is huge and mostly cool, some are more mature than others. I can work part time now and make the same as when I worked a full time schedule elsewhere. The place is really beautiful.
Cons
All services happen downstairs within the bath area, so no natural light underground. Breaks are only 20-25 minutes, which is quick. The clients are a mixed bag sometimes. I wish our employee discount was better since services are extremely expensive but we do get a certain amount of complimentary bath time. Some of the managers are not good at controlling busy shifts and are frustrating to work with, but my own manager is very professional and reliable and responds quickly when I need something.
