Pros
There were many friendly people around the office and production floor. Most of the mid-level management had their minds in the right place.
Cons
It was very difficult to plan your personal life. You were frequently expected to be able to work during the weekend, given notice on Friday afternoon. Upper management was old-school, strict, and known for scolding or berating subordinates for minor imperfections. The production workers cower and try to hide when the owner walks through, because they are scared of being screamed at. Health benefits and 401k matching took a full year to kick in.
