Pros

When you actually get to do software development, it's just okay. - very small company, so you can make an impact - flat organizational structure

Cons

All work relies on knowing "tribal knowledge". ie, In order to do something you have to go through at least 2 other people to get all of the context. That along with lack of any processes owners causes a slew of other issues which block development, such as: - very little documentation - documentation scattered everywhere - confusing and inefficient project setup (no DevOps) - no internal standardization - core offerings are buggy - poor on-boarding process - priorities constantly changing - Too many meetings

I'm sorry for your experience at AMC. You shared similar feedback during your exit interview and I appreciate the chance to address it. I agree that some of our older legacy code isn't documented as well as it could be and the domain knowledge exists with just a handful of people. That can be frustrating. We've taken steps to ensure the new platform and new products are documented well from the start and our DevOps are significantly improved. Appreciate the feedback and good luck in your career!

Pros

The dev team, CTO, Solutions Engineers, and Customer Success/ AMs.

Cons

Everyone is underpaid. Weirdly undepaid. 3 person Marketing team + embarassingly low engagement on LinkedIn + abysmal sales performance = total complacency from leadership. Weird. Marked and obvious lack of respect in the industry for the organization. CEO and COO = incredibly ineffective leaders. They have no self awareness and narrow views on literally every single aspect of running a tech company. Everyone is forced to go into the office on a hybrid schedule to appease one employee who commutes 60 miles to the office.

I'm sorry you felt the need vent such frustration. Say what you will about me, but the rest of the team does an incredible job. Our remote work policy has nothing to do with race and it feels weird to even have to defend that. Every organization has their issues, including ours, but we haven't ever laid anyone off in 30 years of busness and our average tenure is 10 years. I wish you luck in your career.
