Pros

- Stability in job. - Some hardworking people

Cons

- Employees always working OT and work was never completed. - Management not knowing their subordinates positions and/or job details. - Management lack of accountability. - Customers waiting several weeks for repaired products. - Lack of accountability throughout plant. - Very few employees use email for communication - Very few employees use the phone for communication - Continuous oversight with employees. - "Pass the buck" mentality in plant. - Lack of HR present in plant. - HR favors management, not labor. - Plant has a brain drain. Does not hire younger people. Ageist. - Some employees are allowed to do anything, while some can't. I worked at Ametek MCT for over a year. In my time there, I was in an intellectual desert. Very few people took pride in their job, while the rest were just there to collect a check. No management oversight, and you were only talked to when something was wrong. "Pass the buck" mentality with managers then leaked over to employees. Deadlines were never met on time. A lot of pressure put on employees to work OT without any valid reason for doing so. Ametek MCT also has a tendancy to hire older people. In my year there I did not witness them hiring a person under the age of 40. Your job description and title almost changed week to week with knee jerk reactions to business decisions. Ametek has also high turnover due to these business decisions. Finally, I would not recommend working at the Ametek MCT plant. It was a bad experience.
