Pay is usually higher than industry averages

Lack of upward mobility for qualified individuals. Instead associates are promoted on the basis of popularity regardless of if they lack the required skills, bandwidth or experience to perform the job. The offsite team picks and chooses when to interject in client faces issues and often over complicate things without any regard towards how the on-site teams are affected. There are alarming differences in how the region is ran under the direction of two VPs. One mico manages their associates on simple projects and then turns a deaf ear on others that require more senior level involvement. It also appears to be very few minorities in real management positions under this half of the region as well. The other allows her managers to make justified business decisions and is seemingly more personable. The turn over rate should be a key indicator that many of their employees past/present are not satisfied with their experience. Communication should be at the forefront of everyone’s mind however crucial pieces of information are often left out of region/company wide emails. A great example of this can be seen in the company’s handling and response to the COVID virus. Suddenly the opinions of the corporate teams are regarded to same degree as doctors as they roll out and often double down on pointless policies and procedures.

Pros

After 11 years in the multifamily industry, AMLI is the first company where I've genuinely felt that the culture aligns with the values they promote. Leadership is approachable, supportive, and truly listens to employees at every level. There is a strong emphasis on integrity, resident experience, and doing the right thing—not just when it's easy, but consistently. Employees are trusted, empowered, and encouraged to bring ideas to the table. The company invests in its people, provides opportunities for growth, and fosters a collaborative environment where teams support one another. The work-life balance, communication, and overall level of professionalism are unlike anything I've experienced in previous organizations. Most importantly, AMLI makes you feel valued as a person, not just as an employee. It's rare to find a company that genuinely practices what it preaches, and that's what sets AMLI apart. For the first time in my career, I feel like I've found a long-term home.

Cons

I have not identified any significant cons in my experience so far. After 11 years in the multifamily industry, AMLI has been a refreshing change. Leadership is supportive, communication is strong, and the company genuinely lives its values.

Where do I even begin? Working for AMLI has truly been a dream.
