Pros

You'll get your paychecks on time. There's as much OT to pick up as you want, typically with a bonus stipend (for now, not sure how long that'll last). Shifts vary quite a bit, so you have your choice to choose from many, although that's for OT only. If you're new here, your regular shifts are decided by seniority points. Expect to work the back half of the week (Th, Fr, Sa, EO Wed) on nights for a couple years. Options to go to EMTA or medic school on the company dime, if you're willing to sign 2 years of work to them.

Cons

Low pay for the cost of living. Expect to work as a medic for $15 an hour for the first 6 months until you get a review and then bumped up to just under $18. Practically no downtime between calls. You can expect to run on most nights from hospital to call. FD has scene control and loves to show it. The Union went away last year, and the company is currently picking and choosing policies to follow from under the CBA as it transitions to its new version. All very secretive stuff atm, and personally seems untrustworthy. Management just brought back a policy that was sworn would not be enforced any longer, keeping crews over beyond their 12 hour shift, and also has threatened call backs on days off. As of this writing, the call backs have not happened yet, but holdovers have.

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

As we continue to strengthen our culture, our Core Behaviors remain the foundation for how we lead, engage, and deliver results across our teams. These behaviors are not just guiding principles—they define the expectations for how we interact with each other, our patients, and our communities every day. At their core, these behaviors drive consistency and alignment across the organization. By prioritizing care, encouraging open communication, seeking to understand, collaborating on solutions, and holding ourselves accountable, we create an environment grounded in trust, respect, and shared responsibility. I am proud to be part of a great organization that exemplifies the core behaviors.

Cons

Success of the Core Behaviors depends on consistent leadership, clear application, and sustained reinforcement over time. This is a challenge that will take time.
