Pros

Great if you are just trying to get your foot in the door, will provide training for expanded training free, easy to get a job due to high turn over

Cons

If you are not part of the insider group, you are left without a paddle a lot. Complaints from patients are not taken seriously when relayed to upper staff. Vehicles will break down often and without warning. Inconsistant handling of protocol breaches; some will get asked to leave as soon as they break protocol and others will still be there after multiple major breeches of protocol that could have caused harm to patients and the public. Pay is not based off of amount of education gained or experience. When asked for suggestions on how to make things for the field crews easier, it does not always appear to be taken seriously enough to be tried or talked about outside the meetings. Good employees get burned out and tend to find other places to go that also tend to pay better.

Pros

There’s a good workforce here with employees who are well united on issues a strong sense that the company is actually pushing toward a positive future in terms of operations. Ambulance fleet seems to be getting good upgrades and call volume (in most areas) is manageable. There is also a good amount of OT available with bonuses/incentives available. Matching 401k is nice and health benefits are very reasonable.

Cons

For being such a large operation, the pay rate seems to be lacking as of right now. Most employees with adult responsibilities are having to rely heavily on overtime/incentives just to have a semi-comfortable lifestyle outside of work. Uniforms definitely need improvements and training for new EMTs seems a bit lackluster. The morale can be low at times also due to the company being write-up happy (for lack of a better term). Lack of 24 hour units and proper posting locations makes for a somewhat harsh work day as well.
