Pros

AMR is a place to utilize as a "stepping stone" to further ones knowledge in EMS and Healthcare. The pay is comporable to other companies within the industry.

Cons

AMR is a Company run by management in Denver who do not have a clue as to what goes on in the day to day operations of individual sites. Since the pay is good, most employees remain but are totally burnt out from the stress, shortstaffing, antiquated equipment, verbal abuse by management etc. Sexism runs rampid, if you are a male with sexual harrassment charges on file you are promoted to General Manager. There are very few females in management and those that are are treated inappropriately, degraded and have no voice when it comes to decision making. Employees are extremely unhappy as there is no avenue to speak with someone other than local management. AMR does provide a hotline for employees to report issues but once reported the investigation is conducted by the local management, the same people that the employee reported. All shifts are run short staffed and an enormous amount of stress is placed on the employees while they are handling life threatening emergencies. Hiring practices consist of the male Managers "checking out" the applicant. Certifications although required are waived depending on the "looks" of the applicant. Service is compromised by managements egos on a daily basis, response times to emergencies are horrible, the Communications Centers have many unqualified dispatchers who make daily errors in judgement, EMT's and Paramedics have bad attitudes due to the workplace and the list goes on.

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

As we continue to strengthen our culture, our Core Behaviors remain the foundation for how we lead, engage, and deliver results across our teams. These behaviors are not just guiding principles—they define the expectations for how we interact with each other, our patients, and our communities every day. At their core, these behaviors drive consistency and alignment across the organization. By prioritizing care, encouraging open communication, seeking to understand, collaborating on solutions, and holding ourselves accountable, we create an environment grounded in trust, respect, and shared responsibility. I am proud to be part of a great organization that exemplifies the core behaviors.

Cons

Success of the Core Behaviors depends on consistent leadership, clear application, and sustained reinforcement over time. This is a challenge that will take time.
