Pros

They put money in my pocket, wages sucked and poor compensation for tremendous amounts of work.

Cons

Treated like cattle. Treated like trash. Dollars signs were more important than patient care. Management played games and spread rumors like high school children. Hid and covered up sexual harassment. Accused employees of things that never happened just because they didn't like when someone spoke up about all the wrong doings. Discrimination on all levels. They will hire anyone, even someone that doesn't have the proper knowledge and education.

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

Cons

Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
