Pros
1.) Small contracting company that is effective with administrative decisions, benefits, and recognition for employees. 2.) During the bulk of my employment, the leadership has been fairly transparent about the company's goals moving forward in down-to-earth meetings and statements that update employees. 3.) From my experience, Apex appears to be very keen on expanding outward while maintaining good relationships with existing customers. This gives me the impression they will continue to grow and provide continuous opportunities for the foreseeable future and provide positions with as much stability as contracting can provide. 4.) Benefits listed in the packages were better than most of the larger contracting companies, pay is comparable. 5.) Have personally been around long enough to see some contractors get the short end of the stick in certain aspects and have seen the company go out of their way (from a business logic stand-point) to help take care of its employees. 6.) Work/Life Balance appears to be great on most contracts. Micromanagement has not been an issue in any workspace I've been a part of. Mileage may vary, especially on OCONUS deployment-based contracts. I believe the work ethic of Apex employees' to be far above average across the board.
Cons
1.) The company does have a few advancements to make in the administrative department for things such as standardized/metric yearly review templates that can impact pay or the value employees feel they are brining to the company. 2.) Due to small nature of the company there are a limited number of contracts that an employee might be aware of or have a consideration to move laterrally to. Larger companies likely have more positions and opportunities in more locations to offer employees that have experience that could be used elsewhere.
